This Turkish restaurant is located right next to the Hungarian Parliament building, and it feels very upscale and non-touristic. You can immediately tell it’s a high-end local spot, especially with the luxury cars often parked around the area. The food was genuinely impressive. As someone who lived in Istanbul for four years, I can say the flavors are very authentic, and chef is Turkish, which really shows in the quality. I tried the Adana kebab, lahmacun, and içli köfte. Food was excellent and very close to what you would expect in Turkey. The içli köfte was a bit different from what I expected (I was expecting the fried kibbeh-style dish), but it was still good. Overall, everything was well prepared and flavorful. It is important to note that the restaurant is quite expensive, so it’s not ideal for budget dining. However, if you want a high-quality Turkish dining experience in Budapest, especially in such a unique location, it is definitely worth visiting.

Turkiz in Budapest is a visually striking venue that immediately impresses with its grand, luxurious design. The atmosphere is great from a stylistic perspective, promising an upscale and exciting dining experience. It clearly aims for a high-end, sophisticated ambiance, which is where its strengths begin and, unfortunately, often end. While the aesthetic is beautiful, the actual dining environment leaves much to be desired. The most immediate and significant issue was the temperature: the restaurant was really cold. This made relaxing and enjoying the meal difficult, feeling more like a challenge than a luxury experience. Compounding this, the noise level was uncomfortably high; the restaurant is loud, making conversation across the table a struggle and further detracting from the desired intimate atmosphere. A beautiful setting can only carry an experience so far, especially when the main event—the food—doesn't measure up. Regrettably, despite the presentation, the cuisine was not so tasty. The flavors lacked the vibrancy and depth expected from authentic Turkish cuisine, especially at this price point. When paying a premium, one expects outstanding quality, but the dishes were surprisingly unmemorable. Speaking of premium, it must be noted that Turkiz is quite expensive. Value for money is not the best. I expected the taste of the food to be mouth watering. In summary, Turkiz is a restaurant you visit to be seen or to appreciate its stunning interior design.
