Everything was more than great! Breakfast was one of the best we tried in Budapest. Besides Cristoph brought us 2 Prosecco from house for our anniversary. He was too kind. For our next visit to Budapest, definitely we will be stopping by! Thanks for everything!
Grumpy exceeded every expectation. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The portions were incredibly generous, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and beautifully presented, and the whole atmosphere was warm, stylish, and inviting. On top of that, the staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. It’s one of those places where everything just comes together perfectly. Easily one of my favorite spots in Budapest, and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!
On our second day in Budapest, we had a breakfast reservation at Grumpy Budapest. This was a much better experience than the first day—no waiting time and a smiling welcoming faces. That’s exactly what we like. Atmosphere: Very vibrant and cosy. The yellow interior, the plants, the pictures on the walls, and the music all contribute to a warm and comfortable feeling. Service: Very kind and cheerful staff. They are attentive, helpful, and friendly. Food: The menu offers various options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. The quality of the food is very good, and we really enjoyed the flavors. Price: We paid around €30 for our breakfast. It’s good value for money. If you’re looking for a nice breakfast place with great quality and a pleasant atmosphere, this is definitely worth considering. René & Menekşe
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Came here for brunch and really enjoyed it. As soon as I walked in, the welcome was genuinely warm — smiles, friendly hellos, and just a relaxed, easy atmosphere. Even walking past the open kitchen, people were engaging and welcoming, which stood out. Food was fresh and came out quickly, and everything felt simple in a good way. Music was right up my street (a bit of Tina never hurts), and the whole place had a great energy. It also felt very LGBTQ friendly, which I really appreciated. Loved the name, loved the branding, and just a really nice place to spend time. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our brunch here. The food was tasty and the portions were quite large. However, there's nothing special about the main brunch menu options. One's just scrambled eggs and some veggies while the other is a reinvented English breakfast. The pistachio croissants were excellent. The coffee was delicious as well.
