It was so good, it tasted like authentic Korean food! I had the 3-flavor chicken set and a bapsang set. I was so surprised and absolutely loved it. I even ordered takeaway that night! Highly recommend the sweet and spicy chicken
Food was mediocer.. tastes like frozen chicken from aldis, same with the fries. Nice athmosphere, nice souju but food ain’t it, the batter on the chicken lacked flavour and spices. This is not korean style.
Reply to the owner’s response: The owner is completely lying in their reply. The truth is: You NEVER processed a refund for me. As a traveler looking for a meal in Hungary, if you had simply refunded the cost of that one problematic dish that day, the issue would have been resolved perfectly. I wouldn't have even bothered to write this review because I have no interest in ruining anyone's day. However, instead of showing any real sincerity or offering a genuine apology, you chose to distort the facts and fabricate a story about "processing the refund without issue" just to save face publicly. This level of dishonesty and defensive attitude is completely unacceptable and worse than the food issue itself. Future customers should be very cautious—this place lacks basic integrity and would rather lie than take responsibility. Original review: I am writing this to warn other travelers, especially fellow Asians, about my experience at Kpub. As someone who visits South Korea multiple times every year, I was shocked by how unprofessional and unauthentic this place is. I ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbap, and it was served completely cold. In any authentic Korean kitchen, Bibimbap (especially with Bulgogi) is served warm, or at the very least, the rice and meat are fresh and hot. When I pointed this out and politely asked the server if they could heat it up in the microwave, the kitchen staff flatly refused, claiming the vegetables "couldn't be heated." They then simply left the cold dish on the table and ignored us. When I requested to return the untouched dish because it was inedible, they told me they "couldn't handle it" and insisted that this is just how their Bibimbap is served. As an Asian tourist, I felt a distinct lack of hospitality and a strong sense of discrimination. It felt like they were dismissing my concerns because I was a traveler. The staff was incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. Total lack of authenticity and zero customer service. I highly recommend Asian travelers to stay away from this place!
Lovely korean-cuisine based (gastro)pub in a quieter street near Astoria. The Tteokbokki had a lovely presentation and the cheese on top had a nice stretch, no low quality cheese used here. Four stairs because the rice wasn't freshly-made and the tteokbokki sauce was a tad bit watery. Flavourwise spot on. The (intentional and man-made) interior design really fits the small pub-like feeling, i am sure it's plenty of fun in the late night. I definitely plan to return in the future.
Interesting small place for what I would say is great Korean food. I had a bulgogi bowl with a sweet, mildly spicy sauce that I was told to mix in. I also tried Jinro(see pic). It was great!
