Wow!!! Visited Budapest for Champion’s League Final what a gem! The location is 15 minutes from city centre but the best taxi journey ride taken to this restaurant. The ambience is stunning. Service welcoming, engaging and friendly, The food was unbelievable ….. as they say see pictures! Cannot recommend highly enough! Could be visiting again for lunch tomorrow before the final!
This place is a true hidden gem. It has that wonderful, long-standing vintage charm that you just can't fake. I loved the classic interior, especially the bar counter where you can watch the chefs craft pizzas right before your eyes. Everything we ordered was delicious . The service was impeccable, sticking to that high-standard Italian hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone craving a real taste of Italy. I will definitely be back
Porcellino Grasso delivers a lively, cozy dining experience tucked away in the hills of Buda—very much a neighborhood spot, yet absolutely worth the trip whether you arrive by car, taxi, public transport, or even on foot if you don’t mind a bit of an uphill walk. Service was solid throughout the evening: attentive without ever feeling intrusive, which made for a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The food had some clear highlights and a few areas for improvement. The gorgonzola salad was enjoyable but could have benefited from a more generous portion of gorgonzola and a lighter hand with the arugula. On the other hand, the shrimp spaghetti was terrific—well-executed and flavorful—though it arrived noticeably earlier than the pizzas ordered by the rest of our group. As for the pizzas, while the ingredients were good, they were overloaded with toppings, which took away from the overall balance. Sometimes, less really is more, especially when it comes to pizza. Overall, a charming and comfortable spot with strong potential, great ambiance, and thoughtful service—just a few tweaks in the kitchen could elevate it even further.
First time we went to Porcelino I gave them only 3 star because of the despointment we had with the food ingredients quality, specially with the pasta. Even so, we gave them one more chance and it was much better. We had tasty food, the pasta was good and the service professional. So, average 4 stars for the food.
Outstanding Italian restaurant with simply amazing dishes. Quaint atmosphere, professional service and extensive wine list too. Best tiramisu I’ve ever had, but honestly all dishes were fabulous. Will certainly return
