Foods are really tasty. Ordered mixed fried vegetables, madras lamb curry and garlic naan, truly satisfying. The staff were very friendly and thoughtful. A very pleasant experience.
The general ambience and location or this restaurant is good. However, I doubt the food quality. The Paneer felt synthetically prepared (I tried Chilli Paneer). Prices are also a bit on the higher side than other Indian restaurants in Budapest. Average experience overall.
Virasat is one of the higher end South Asian restaurants in Budapest, which is reflected in the prices. It also suffers from the usual curse of higher profile Indian restaurants - the lack of balance between prices and the experience you get for them. The food selection and the ultra friendly staff are the main ups, while I felt that the preparation of dishes was somewhat slow. Also, the same dishes were quite tastier in a few other (though lower profile) South Asian restaurants with more reasonable pricing.
May 2026 5* Visited the place to have quick dinner with colleagues. The place is nice and ambiance was good. Also shout out to Amandeep for his excellent service. Service is good and food is delicious. Here is our food list: - Soya Chaap Tikka ***** - Samosa Chaat ***** - Veg Zafarani ***** - Garlic naan ***** - Onion Naan ***** - Aalo Naan ***** - Masala Tea ***** - Mango Lassi ***** They can make food medium spicy and spicy. Spicy food is good spicy so be sure if you can handle it. Menu is quite exhaustive and there are many veg and non-veg options. The place is not fully accessible as there are few steps at the entrance.
It’s the second time in 3 years now that I come to this restaurant. I had an amazing experience the first time and today I go home again super satisfied and happy with my dinner. The food is amazing and service is super. I got chilly paneer with roti bread, and my boyfriend got a chicken dishes which was also superb. Definitely recommend and would come back 100% next time I’m in Budapest.
