The best dining experience I have ever been to. The staff has the ability to make you feel home while giving the full experience of a fine dining. The food was incredible. The music was always chosen based on the theme of the dish. The rooms are beautiful and prepared with the aim of bringing you back to the past or forward to the future. It was a 360 degrees experience and an absolute pleasure to be part of.
This is by far the best dining experience I have ever had. I work in nyc in fine dining and also have a background in dance. This was a beautiful combination of both. The immersive experience of moving throughout the ages was already unique and enticing, but when the courses also blow my mind? The sommeliers were kind, knowledgeable, and explain the wines in such a succinct way. I chose to get the local/Hungarian wine pairing and it did NOT disappoint. Each course was not only beautifully presented, but the thought process went so deep as to have special made plate/utensils to help evoke the experience and chronology of food/dining. This restaurant not only provides you with good food, ambiance, experience, wine, but it also creates a dining experience that has you interacting with other guests. You leave the restaurant with new friends, excitement and a bit of fear for what the future of dining holds. I didn’t want to spoil the courses, so pictures of ambiance attached. This is a No Skip for me. Anytime I’m back in Budapest, I will make it a point to see my friends at Onyx again. p.s bonus points if you find my rocks ;)
It was a very special night with outstanding service, ambience and food. Every little detail was composed in perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want to experience something very special. It’s absolutely worth the money! Don’t miss it, when you’re in Budapest!!
I reserved this restaurant for New Year’s Eve with my husband! I think it’s around 300 CHF per person with local wine pairing (each dish pairs with different wine) My husband said it was the best New Year’s Eve celebration so far. We chose the New Year’s menu with a local wine pairing. The food was excellent, and the experience was unique, full of storytelling, with a wonderful ambiance. We met some very interesting people there. The wine was top-notch, and they were incredibly generous throughout the evening. The 20-year Tokaji they served on New Year’s Eve was outstanding. I heard it was one of the last great vintages Hungary produced, due to climate change. The staff were very attentive, kind, and caring, and they made the atmosphere truly enjoyable for everyone. We’re so happy we chose this restaurant to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Thank you for making it memorable with amazing food, excellent wine, and a beautiful ambiance. I will not spoil much to let you experience it!
Hard to describe this amazing and unique experience. Every single idea and moment is perfectly composed. You can't find anything similar in the country. I would highlight the professionalism of the entire team, their friendliness. Your tastebuds will always remember Onyx, every dish is a masterpiece. Besides the main bites, definitely try the warm bread and butter. The immersive style of the dinner brings the people together, you will sit at one table like you belong together. The wine-pairing is perfect too. Wine glasses are unbeatable, nicest I have ever seen. Onyx dinner is a lifetime memory!! Thank you for the experience. (P.s. Ladies, wear flat shoes ;) )
