Description
In this unique 3-hour-long tour, I will take you through the magnificent music history of Budapest by showing you the most beautiful monuments of the Hungarian capital which are related to music. We will start our tour by admiring one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world, the Hungarian State Opera House the Italian Neo-Rennaisance building of which is indeed a magnificent construction. I will tell you some legends related to the construction of this building and I will talk about a golden era of Hungarian history during which Budapest became a modern metropolis of Central Eastern Europe. I will tell you numerous interesting stories about the most famous composers of Hungary who lived in these buildings, about their customs, and not only about Hungarian composers but also about world-famous foreign composers who visited Hungary. I will tell you the history of the construction of these buildings, I will also let you have an insight into the history of music education in Hungary, we will visit the renowned Hungarian Academy of Music, the memorial museums erected for the respect of Ferenc Liszt and Zoltán Kodály, two great composers of Hungarian music history. Besides the monuments related to music we will also 'touch' a great number of other famous attractions of Budapest during the tour: I will take you to the iconic Heroes' Square lined by two prominent museums, one of the first big department stores built in Budapest, to the 'Broadway of Pest' and to the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. You will see palace-like residential houses originating from the 19th century, some of the most popular theatres of Budapest, and you will have the opportunity to taste the buzzling city life of the Hungarian capital at one of the biggest crossroads of the city. We will even admire some special metro tiles decorating the underground station of the European continent's first underground railway line. We will end our tour at the architectural award-winning building of the House of Music Hungary which besides its extraordinary collection of Hungarian musical heritage also showcases international musical treasures. At the end of the tour I will sing you some of the most beautiful Hungarian folk songs and I will show you some traditional Hungarian folk dance steps!Includes
