Description

Meet at Al Habtoor Palace Budapest, Erzsébet tér 9–10, 1051 Budapest. Look for the infamous white “Experiences by George” bag and the bald guy with the cool beard. We’ll do a quick 5-minute welcome/briefing, then set off by van or minibus for a 40–50 minute countryside drive to a beautifully preserved 17th-century watermill. Before we step into the woods, we’ll do a 10–15 minute briefing on forest etiquette and safety - how the truffle dogs work, where to walk/stand, when to keep quiet, and how to avoid masking scents. Then, around the mill, join a local truffle hunter and his trained dogs for a genuine black-truffle search. After the hunt, settle in for a gourmet tasting: classic foie gras “nature,” our house specialty foie gras with black truffle and Tokaji Aszú, and truffle butter crowned with fresh truffle paired, of course, with more bubbles. A short, scenic 10-minute ride brings you to Etyek. Go up close with a winemaker-guided tasting (4–5 wines) at a family presshouse their story, a peek into the cellar, and a couple of snacks in case the wines come in strong. To finish, we sit down at one of Etyek’s oldest wineries for a traditional Hungarian lunch, cooked locally and paired with their own wines.
