Description
The tour begins with a bus transfer from Budapest to Mátraháza. From there, you hike uphill through scenic beech forests to reach Kékes, Hungary’s highest peak. At the summit, a high telecommunication tower features a panorama terrace offering extensive views.
After the peak, the route descends visiting a small andesite cave and the remnants of a medieval castle. The hike continues through Mátrafüred before ascending to the Kozmáry-lookout for more expansive mountain and plains views. Finally, a bus returns you to Budapest.
