Description
Step away from the city’s hustle and discover Budapest’s hidden water paradise by kayaking near Molnár Island. Paddle along one of the Danube’s magical and untamed stretches, where lush vegetation, calm waters, and water birds create an unforgettable experience.
Glide through this breathtaking nature reserve in transparent handcrafted kayaks (or SUPs), offering a special perspective on water.
Please note that this is a self-guided tour. The host will prepare the kayaks (or the SUPs) and all the equipment on the starting dock. All you need to bring is your sense of adventure. Previous kayaking (or SUP) experience is highly recommended.
This adventure is limited to five people at a time (3 kayaks + 2 SUPs). Kayaks are included in the booking by default; SUPs are available only on request (instead of or in addition). Please contact us if you need SUPs.
The starting and finishing point is in Budapest’s XXI. district, one of the docks on the Danube, in front of the Kolonics György Leisure Center, accessible from the promenade. Exact meeting point: 47°24'45.0'N 19°05'58.7'E

The self-guided tour lasts about 2,5-3,5 hours, depending on your pace, stops, and the distance you cover on the river.
When you arrive back at the starting point, please send a message or call on WhatsApp or Viber. The host will be there within minutes to collect all the equipment. The provided time slots are very flexible, please reach out if you’d like to suggest other times.
We provide waterproof bag for your small valuables. All other bigger bags or luggages will be stored in a safe and locked space.
Limits for the three kayaks (the two SUPs do not have limits):
Max. weight: 75 kg(/165 lbs)
Max. height: 180 cm(/5′ 11″)
Please do not exceed these measures, otherwise you are risking you will not fit into the kayaks.
Further notes:
- The smaller river branch on the east side of Molnár Island can be used for kayaking, but in summer and fall the vegetation becomes so dense that you cannot paddle through its entire length. If you enter, be prepared to turn back at some point.
- Feel free to use any docks for short stops but please note that all docks are private
- Please keep distance from the shores as there may be fishermen
- Wearing the life vest is mandatory by law
- Kayaks are built using 'skin-on-frame' technology, meaning the hull is not hard plastic but a flexible material.
Feel free to book this experience any time of the year. But be sure to wear appropriate clothing!
In the event of inclement weather, this event may be canceled, in which case a full refund will be issued or an alternative date will be offered.

Important Information
- This is a self-guided tour with no tour guide. The greeter will prepare (and collect) the equipment at the starting dock. Good balance is required, and previous kayaking or SUP experience is highly recommended.
Small waterproof bag (2,5L) is availabe. All bigger bags or luggages will be stored in a safe and locked space.
