Description
This relaxing bike tour covers Budapest’s most significant sites with engaging commentary, focusing on anecdotes rather than dates. The route starts at Szabadsag Tér (Liberty Square), where you will see the monument commemorating the Soviet Army and learn about the city’s revolutionary history.
Next, cycle to the Hungarian Parliament, a neo-Gothic building with an extensive interior network of staircases. From here, you will enjoy your first view of the Danube River.
The tour continues along Andrassy Street, Budapest’s main boulevard lined with elegant buildings and exclusive shops. Passing Nagymező Utca, known as Budapest’s Broadway, your guide will recommend bars, clubs, and theaters for an evening out.
You will then visit Hősök Tere (Heroes Square) and Városliget city park, where you can relax around Vajdahunyad Castle and its gardens. Continuing by bike, you will see the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, the Fun Park, and the Budapest Zoo.
The route returns to the Basilica through historic winding streets, showcasing old buildings damaged in the civil war and revealing hidden parts of the city. You will also pass the Budapest Synagogue (Nagy Zsinagóga), the largest in Europe.
