The hotel is excellent! It is located in the centre of the town. The staff was very friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. The room was quite large and had a good layout. The breakfast was plentiful. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we visit Budapest again.
Great location and clean, but missing basic room amenities We stayed at Hotel Mercure Wien Zentrum during our trip to Vienna. The hotel's location is excellent and very central. The reception area was a bit small but clean. Similarly, the room was on the smaller side but very clean and tidy. However, the room lacked basic amenities such as a toothbrush kit, shaving kit, shoe polish, or a sewing kit. There were also no slippers provided. It was a bit disappointing to see these missing details. On the bright side, the staff was very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. Overall, it's a good choice for its location and cleanliness.
A fantastically located hotel in the Pest side of Budapest that is within easy walking distance of everything you need to see in the city. Located on a pedestrianised street, you’re far away from any traffic and with it leading onto an often busy shopping area, it feels secure and safe, even when walking back late at night. Its handy location is great if you’re exploring the city and need to either pause in comfort, drop off some shopping (we ‘dropped back in’ from the Citadella after purchasing something bulky) or simply use the toilet rather than seek out a public one. While some might find the room and bathroom small, it’s perfectly sized for a place to sleep and leave luggage when you’re likely to spend most of your time exploring Budapest. It’s well stocked with all the essentials you might need, including a fridge. If you like a bit of fresh air, the windows open well, but be aware that even though you’re away from the main roads, there can still be noise in the night – we’re not quite sure what it was, purpose bin lorries or construction work, but we were woken up at around 4am two nights in a row by incredibly load bangs and crashes outside. But as soon as the windows were closed, you couldn’t hear a sound, showing how soundproof the windows are. When with first arrived at the hotel, even though we were earlier than the stated check in time by about an hour, we were immediately given a room with no issue, which allowed us to drop our bags off and immediate go back out into the city to make the most of the day. The staff were very accommodating when we checked out, allowing us to leave our luggage in their secure storage as had a late evening flight.
A small room but great location. Close to the metro and shopping street. Breakfast is always the same for my 12 nights. Too crowded 7-9am which some times no food left, need to wait. It’s good that they help book taxi. No bellboy. The staff jut looked when carrying 3 luggage.
We stayed at this hotel for four nights. It is located on one of the busiest pedestrian streets in District V, although cars can still access the hotel via the rear entrance. Most major sights are within a 5 to 30-minute walk. The room size is reasonable given the location, and the tap water is safe to drink. The breakfast offers a good selection, although it did not change at all during our stay. The reception staff were both professional and helpful. Overall, I would rate the hotel five stars for location and three stars for facilities, giving an average overall rating of four stars.
