Great location Sadly air con could be improved.. and view from window of room 405 is just a block of flats. But that's not the hotel's fault. However the lovely receptionist, Viola said that there are much nicer views on the 6th floor, that has a balcony and oversees the Parliament over the Danube. I would DEFINTELY stay here again. The location and friendliness of the staff are excellent! They even ironed two of my shirts for me!
It’s an old hotel but very near to all the attractions. Walkable distance to Buda castle and chain bridge. Breakfast is good. Aircon in the room could be better during summers. Tram and bus stops are nearby for easy access to anywhere in the town. They provide filter water for free at reception, which is quite good.
I stayed here for three days. I chose the hotel because of its location and I was not disappointed. It is superbly located for sightseeing at the Fishermens Bastion and the Castle Museum. Additionally it is very close to the Chain Bridge so the sights of Pest are only a short walk away. What enhanced the experience was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, both front of house and in the small and intimate bar. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. But I keep the best bit for last: the breakfast buffet was excellent. All in all my stay at the Carlton contributed to making my stay in Budapest memorable. Highly recommended.
We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a variety of food items, freshly prepared and nicely presented. The clerks and staff spoke English quite well and were very helpful. We will come here again when we return to Budapest.
Positive experience. The rooms had everything we needed but we found the air con did not really work and the room was very warm so we had the window open all night which was noisy. Beds were comfy. Great shower. Liked that there was a fridge, kettle and toiletries too. Helpful staff, was able to check in early and use the luggage room too. Location was good if you like the historical side but the main bars etc are the other side of the river. Not an issue for us.
