We would like to thank the entire team at Halászbástya Restaurant for creating such an unforgettable dining experience. Before our visit, we requested a window table online, and they graciously seated us with a breathtaking view of the Parliament. It was the perfect setting for a memorable evening. We ordered two different tasting menus. One was the pre-selected Halászbástya menu with expertly paired wines for each course, and the other allowed us to choose each course individually. You really can’t go wrong with either option. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was magical, with beautiful piano music creating the perfect ambiance throughout the evening. I couldn’t tell whether it was live because of where we were seated, but it made the experience even more elegant and enjoyable. What truly made the evening exceptional was the outstanding service. David and the entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for, creating memories we’ll cherish for a long time. Thank you, David and the whole team. Well done! We highly recommend Halászbástya Restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Budapest.
An absolutely wonderful dining experience! The restaurant is stunning, the sunset view is breathtaking, and the dishes exceeded our expectations. As a lovely gesture, the restaurant also gifted us a selection of their signature desserts. Our only note was regarding our waiter, who was coughing frequently near us and while serving. While we wish him a speedy recovery, it would be preferable for staff to rest until they recover to avoid causing uneasiness or potential health risks for guests. Thank you for an otherwise amazing evening!
An ideal location for a quick bite to eat among the bustle of Fisherman’s Bastion. While there are plenty of places to eat around this iconic location, my travel companion and I only wanted a quick snack for lunch rather than a sit down meal. We stumbled across Halászbástya Étterem offering not only a sit down option with beautiful views and well presented food, but a takeaway option of freshly baked mini pizzas and a range of drinks. This was probably one of the best lunch decisions on our trip to Budapest, as the pizzas were delicious. We ordered a spicy pizza and a ham one, along with a lemonade and an salted caramel milkshake with a shot of Baileys. The pizzas were hot, perfectly cooked and had that ideal ‘fresh out a pizza oven’ taste. The milkshake was thick, substantial and had just the right balance of flavours so that the Baileys didn’t overwhelm.
Exceptional, I have one of the best service, the best food, the best atmosphere! They give us good music with the pianist,they give us pretty show with the cocktails, they give us the best presentation with the plate. The food was exquisite ! I took tartare beef, it was an explosion of flavor. Guys ! I recommend you all to eat there for this beautiful experience 😋.
Excellent experience from start to finish. The food is refined, with elegant plating and very well-balanced flavors—tender, juicy meat, delicate sauces, and thoughtful combinations. The burger is surprisingly high-quality, and the reinterpreted traditional dishes are truly impressive. The soup was rich and flavorful, perfect for a colder day. The view is stunning, and the atmosphere invites you to slow down and truly enjoy your meal. The service is professional and attentive. A place you visit for the food—and return for the experience.
