Richard who served our table was such a darling 🥰 Thank you for the excellent service. We had the chicken paprika, the egg dumpling, pork neck, salad and the super delicious bread pudding. It was a truly enjoyable dinner and glad we were able to dine in despite the last minute reservations.
The first time I was here 2 years ago. I remember sitting outside with my colleagues. We have recently decided to have dinner at this restaurant once more. The recommendation was to be inside given the heat dome we were experiencing in Hungary (and throughout Europe) for a couple of days. I appreciated the idea since the restaurant has a unique design. Also, there was a pianist and we heard live music throughout the evening. The place was full, but the waiters and waitresses tried their best to bring our orders as fast as possible. I had a sour cherry soup followed by a dish of Cordon Bleu. The soup was lukewarm (perfect temperature) and the Cordon Bleu came with fruit compote (beside the usual rice one can get). To tell you the truth, I was surprised when it comes to the size of the portion (yes, this was a slight criticism towards the majority of the fine-dining restaurants). I didn't know if I could have dessert as I already started feeling full. In the end I had some cottage cheese dumplings chosen from the "sweet dreams" section of the menu. I also decided to join in with the others to try a bottle of sauvignon blanc. I normally don't drink wine. This was definitely a good decision! Kiosk is one of my favourite restaurants at the moment. I highly recommend it. Perfect for dinner with your colleagues!
Unfortunately, I had high hopes due to the positive reviews, however the restaurant was a disappointment. Firstly, the menu is chaotic and unorganized; there is no clear indication of whether something is a main course or entrée, which leads to a generic confusion about portion sizes. Despite this issue, there is a large variety of choices. Another small flaw with the menu is the lack of formality (in the Hungarian version’s footnotes) “Vegyétek figyelembe”. Upon having made our selection, in a short time two members of our party were presented with their salads (which was the single meal they ordered, treating it as a main course). We found the timing very odd as this happened half an hour before us (the others) received our meals. In this spare time we were also given fries which were a side dish to one meal. My impression was that as soon as something was ready it was brought to the table without second thought. This was highly unprofessional and caused timing issues with our large group. Moreover, the prawn which was presented simply as “Rák” (Prawn) on the Hungarian menu was actually prawn skewers. This vague description of the course is highly misleading, once again highlighting one of the biggest flaws in the restaurant: the menu itself. Additionally, I was also unsatisfied with the tartufo pizza, it had a very crisp dough with no particular flavour other than garlic. There was a bit of truffle pesto around the edges but the taste was very weak. The pizza gave the impression as if it was a simple focaccia. Generally, all the portions were quite conservatively sized. Furthermore, I am deeply frustrated by the fact that there was an automatic service charge as service was so impersonal as if one is in a fast food restaurant. The menus were given in no particular order, not taking gender or seniority into consideration, as well as we did not seem to have a dedicated server assigned to our table rather just a rotating team. A cherry on top was the bathroom design, where the wash basins are designed to look like pots. This design choice led us to directly observe a group of tourists who ran out of the bathroom in shock, thinking they have entered the kitchen. To sum up, I was under the impression that this place is a money grab for tourists with no attention to quality, details and service. Despite its convenient location i definitely do not recommend it.
Strong recommendations for this place. Both lunch and dinner. Sitting outdoor without getting disturbed from traffic no matter time of day. Very nice staff and has a cool vibe in the evenings. The food was very good. Had a perfectly grilled ribeye and tried many other things from the menu. Super good! The drinks where great, both with and without alcohol. Specially their lemonades! I personally liked the indoor settings eventhough it is a big place. Cool done and easy to talk to people. Strongest recommendations!
The atmosphere and service were excellent. We initially discovered this restaurant while having drinks and were so impressed with our experience that we decided to return for dinner a few days later. I can happily say that the dining experience lived up to our expectations. Beyond the intriguing interior design and thoughtful seating arrangements, the food was all very fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the paprika chicken, which had a generous portion size. However, I found that some parts of the chicken contained a significant amount of cartilage. Beyond this, the standout dish of my experience was the dip trip appetizer. I found all the dips to be absolutely delicious and fresh. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience and would recommend this restaurant.
