It was a great experience at the hotel. Nice location, welcoming staff and overall a very positive experience. My room had a great view of the Danube river right in front of the cruise halts. The staff were very pleasant in their service, always seen with a smile, and I especially liked the attention to detail during the check in and check out. Breakfast buffet was great also with local Hungarian dishes which is always a good sign of how connected the restaurant is to the local culture and theme. No complaints, definitely worth your money and look forward to coming back.
I stayed at Marriott Budapest on June 12-19 for a corporate meeting event. I worked very closely with the Sales Team who were absolutely incredible! The hotel was sold out for multiple events; yet the Sales Team (Raluca Buna) made me feel like I was the only client during the months long preparation and the actual week of the event. The bellboy team and house cleaning team did an incredible job making sure all 45 guests received top level hospitality. The banquet staff kept everyone’s stomachs full with a wide range of selections from morning snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks, and evening events. The guests also enjoyed the restaurant bar in the evenings. The meeting room setup, AV team support, and floral decorations exceeded all my expectations. And the views! Wow! Gorgeous views during the meeting with lots of natural light and lunch outside on the patio. This was a 10x event! A great stay overall at the Budapest Marriott! The location in the city is excellent — right on the Danube and within easy walking distance of the main attractions, shops, and restaurants. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful, looking out over the Danube, the Castle, and the Fisherman's Bastion, especially stunning at night when everything is lit up. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection, and the hotel gym was well equipped too. As a Bonvoy status member, I was welcomed at check-in and later kindly invited to a wine tasting, which was a lovely touch. That said, there was unfortunately no welcome treat in the room, nor was a room upgrade offered. A little more recognition of loyalty members in that regard would have rounded off the experience nicely. Overall, it was still a very enjoyable stay, and I would happily return on my next visit to Budapest. Recommended!
We had a wonderful experience here. Incredible room with two queen beds and a view of the buda castle, citadel, and of course overlooking the Danube. Lights up at night like magic. Steps outside the door to everything - the #2 yellow tram along the Danube, the legenda sunset cruise, the m1 metro line, and extremely walkable. Super helpful concierge. Hot tip - we were offered an upgrade to a higher room with a better view, including breakfast, access to a lounge with snacks (light lunch!) available from 12-5, nightly happy hour with hors d’ouevres and drinks. If you wanted to, you could eat all your meals in the hotel with this deal! Take the upgrade 😉
