Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Well located within easy walking distance of the central areas; sight seeing areas and bars and restaurants. The room was comfortable; air conditioned and the bed was comfortable too. Breakfast was ok; a fair choice and got the day started. (Had better selections during other stays; however perfectly ok). The Spa was being refurbished at the time so out of action. The bar perfectly pleasant and I enjoyed a couple of beers during our stay reading my magazine. It was good value for money and I would definitely stay there again.
I stayed at this four-star hotel for four days. What I will mainly remember about this hotel is the absolutely outstanding breakfast buffet. There was a wide variety of products, both sweet and savory, with plenty of choice and excellent quality. The hotel is also very well located, close to public transportation, bus stops, and other amenities, which is very convenient for travelers. I would also like to mention the spa, which was another positive aspect of the experience. However, despite these good points, I unfortunately cannot give this hotel the highest rating. The main reason concerns the reception staff, and more specifically some of the female receptionists, whose attitude was colder than anything I have ever experienced before. I come from France, and honestly, this type of service would hardly be acceptable in a hotel of this category. I experienced major issues with hot water in my room and had to change rooms three times before finally getting one with properly functioning hot water. Each time I went to reception for assistance, the responses were cold and sometimes even irritated, despite the fact that these were completely legitimate customer requests. The service lacked warmth and professionalism, and interactions often felt very robotic. As for the spa, although it was enjoyable, no information was provided regarding available services such as bathrobes or extra towels. I actually had to ask other guests where they had found their bathrobes, which is not normal for a hotel of this standard. Overall, considering the price I paid, I do not believe the services were up to the standards of a true four-star hotel, especially due to the various issues encountered such as the hot water, air conditioning, and the overall quality of the reception service. That being said, the spa and the breakfast remain strong positive points and still make the experience worth trying. However, I unfortunately would not recommend this hotel 100%.
Our last night of a 4 night stay at this hotel. We have really enjoyed staying here. We had a problem with our shower on the second night, the receptionist came to see what was wrong within 5 minutes. The repair couldn't be fixed so within 30 mins we had been upgraded to another room. Thank you, most appreciated. All the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Some reviews have said the beds are too hard, but we found them to be very comfortable. The rooms are a good size: our first room had a shower over the bath, the second had a walk-in shower that was lovely. The first room had somewhere to hang coats, the second didn't. There are only 6 hangers so you might like to bring a few more. Breakfast was lovely- we don't have a cooked breakfast so can't really comment, except to say it looked ok. There is cereal, nuts, fruit, yoghurts, cold meats, cheese, different breads, fruit juices, tea and coffee. More than enough for us. The hotel is spotless. It is in a really good location. A little back from the main road so very quiet. We easily walked to all the places we wanted to see. We even walked across to Buda to see the Castle and Fisherman's Bastion. We did get a taxi to the Szechenyi Thermal Baths. It took about 20 mins and cost about 5 HUF. The receptionist called for a taxi for us. We used the hotel spa. Lovely at tge end of a long day walking! Unfortunately there were no towels as indicated in information. We have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend Hotel Museum
Absolutely fantastic stay at Hotel Museum Budapest! The location was perfect — close to the city centre, restaurants, and major attractions, while still being quiet and relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always happy to help with recommendations and anything we needed. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety of fresh options each morning. We also really appreciated the wellness area after long days exploring Budapest. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. I would highly recommend Hotel Museum Budapest to anyone visiting the city and would definitely stay here again!
The hotel is in a very central location. Buses, trams and the metro are all within easy reach. The airport shuttle is also right nearby. The service was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean, though the bathroom and the small shower cabin in particular had seen better days. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn’t working reliably either, which meant we always had to leave the window open – not ideal given the building site right next door. Generally speaking, the hotel is in need of a refurbishment, particularly in the ‘spa area’ – if you can even call it that – where the hotel’s age is really showing. It seems as though nobody is bothering to look after it. The showers didn’t work – and when they did, only cold water came out. There was a small jacuzzi for all guests, which was dirty and had tufts of hair floating in it. Some people even entered the spa area wearing their outdoor shoes. The massage, however, was excellent. The breakfast is also very good. Despite all this, in my opinion it falls short of a 4-star hotel, but it would make a good 3-star hotel.
