The rooms of the hotel are cozy, very clean and freshly renovated. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom chic and pretty. It's located perfectly central - you can walk to most tourist spots and nice restaurants/bars in 30 minutes or less. We had some problems with our keys which got solved by the staff. So why only 3⭐️? Firstly the hotel is quite difficult to find. The staff really tries to help out with directions, but since there are no clear signs that point you to the right door/elevator etc. it took quite a long time for us to figure everything out and find the hotel. Now to the worst part: the hotel is located at the main road of the city centre, so especially on the weekends the street is super busy with people, cars, trams and ambulances and is therefore quite noisy. That wouldn't be to bad on its own as the windows are quite soundproof. But the rooms are getting super hot. We traveled at the beginning of May and had outside temperatures around 20°C which is not that hot in my opinion. Since the air-conditioning in our room didn't work we had temperatures around 26°C in our room at night, no A/C, couldn't open the window because it was so loud. They provided us with a fan that was noisy on it's own and did nothing to cool down the room but rather blow the hot air around. So we didn't sleep well either because of the noise or because of the temperature. They seem to have rooms to the other side of the building so maybe that might be a better option. I think it's safe to stay at that hotel in autumn-winter-spring but I wouldn't recommend staying here in summer as it usually gets really hot in Budapest at that time of the year and nearly unbearable without air conditioning or the possibility to open the window.
The location was convenient but the building is old, not very easy to navigate with the lockbox and multiple gates. With the street view, the room is very noisy at night. The curtains are not wide enough to cover the light.
Rooms were lovely and very clean, great little hotel within walking distance from everything. We had no trouble finding the hotel, as they reached out beforehand with clear instructions on where to find them. Service was some of the best I’ve ever had, Gyozo truly couldn’t have been more helpful and ensured our trip ran smoothly and stress free. Highly recommended this hotel for your trip to Budapest!
Rooms clean and tidy. Location is central in the city. Found it difficult to find the property at first not very well signposted and not explained very well. We was in Room One and felt like we were put in a 'cupboard' in reception. Our headboard was on the wall of reception. Too close to reception could hear everyone going in and out. Also could hear people walking past the property outside walking to and from the lift/stairs as it was in a courtyard. When I spoke to reception about the noise level and disturbed sleep there answer was earplugs. I messaged them for the possibility to change rooms and was told this is unlikely due to the time of year which is understandable but wasn’t given any other options. Even though Károly Boutique Suite was part of a group of Hotels/Suites, which they stated in the message to myself. There was also a light outside the window on the ceiling, that would flicker continuously on and off at night and when it came on the whole room would light up through the gaps in the curtain. Needed some more toilet roll but no one at reception to ask for any so had to go to the shops to buy some. Only saw two people at reception for our 4night stay but even so the two people were not there for the whole day. The main way of communication we was given was WhatsApp - One was the company and one was a member of staff - which felt inappropriate to message someone on their personal number in regards to our stay: would’ve appreciated to have someone in person to speak to. Also wasn't aware there was a charge for daily housekeeping, Should've been included in the price would of been nice to receive fresh towels and more toilet roll without worry what we needed to pay for daily housekeeping. Overall disappointed in our stay. Didn’t feel like I was suppose to be there, wasn’t made very welcomed
