Description

Budapest has two sides: the one on postcards, and the one locals actually love. This tour takes you straight into the second one. We start with real Hungarian flavours — smokey kolbász, hurka, fresh lángos, and warm chimney cake. No tourist traps, no staged “folk show” nonsense. Just the classics we grew up with and still eat today. From there we head into the 7th District, Budapest’s most layered neighbourhood. Today it’s bars and murals, but behind the walls are stories of brothels hidden behind cafés, WWI shortages, rooftop escape routes, gambling cellars, and the tragic chapter of the WWII ghetto. I’ll show you the corners people walk past without noticing — the parts of the city that still hold its secrets. We stop for a craft-beer tasting before slipping into the darker, stranger, more cinematic side of Budapest. And then comes the finale. Our last stop is a gorgeous speakeasy inside what used to be an old brothel. Velvet walls, low lights, unmarked entrance — the kind of place you’d never find alone. Here you’ll enjoy a signature cocktail and the story of the house, the street, and the nightlife that survived wars, regimes, and reinventions.
