Description

Join us at a Friday evening concert featuring the gems of centuries of organ music. Come to relax and experience the beauty, passion, and uplifting nature of perfectly written classical music performed by great musicians. Varied solo organ or chamber music concerts are offered in the series depending on the date of your visit. Old Hungarian organ music and pieces composed by Bach, Dubois, Franck, Handel, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Purcell or Vivaldi have all been selected to provide visitors with quality entertainment and lasting experience. In 2025 we have two Tuesday night concerts as well on 23 and 30 December. The creative director and main organist of the Majestic Sounds series is Miklós Teleki, who is an excellent, award-winning Hungarian musician giving about 120 organ and piano recitals a year. He performs at almost all recitals except for 4 July when Andres Uibo plays Renaissance, Baroque and Estonian Romantic organ music and on 31 October you can listen to another excellent Hungarian organist, Tamás Lozsányi. Concert programme with pieces by J. S. Bach: 1 Prelude and Fugue in B minor BWV 544 2 Trio Sonata in E flat major (Allegro moderato, Adagio, Allegro) BWV 525 3 Antonio Vivaldi – J. S. Bach: Concerto in A minor (Allegro, Adagio, Allegro) BWV 593 4 Pastorella (Preludium, Allemande, Air, Gigue) BWV 590 5 Prelude and Fugue in E flat major BWV 552 Baroque, Classical and romantic programme: 1 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Fantasy in f minor 2 Six old Hungarian organ compositions from Kilián Szigeti’s collection 3 Franz Liszt: Consolation in D flat major 4 Franz Liszt: Choral - Nun danket alle Gott 5 Théodore Dubois: In Paradisum 6 Th. Bach: Fantasia and Fugue in A minor BWV 561 G. Muffat: Passacaglia J. S. Bach: Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565 At the chamber music concerts you can hear a wonderful young soprano, Nóra Ducza with Miklós Teleki on 30 May, 18 July, 29 August, 17 October, 23 December. The concerts start with a short introduction of the musicians, you can follow the programme on a printed leaflet and the organist playing can be seen on a screen. The instrument is not a huge cathedral organ but a 25-pipe beauty installed in a church with the fusion of acoustics and aesthetics. Offering live classical music is our passion and mission: take part in it with us.
