At Esztergom, the northern gate of Budapest, you will pause at the largest cathedral in the country and see the burial sites of famous cardinals as you gaze across the water towards Slovakia. Cross the river and border into Slovakia to see the stunning view from the opposite side.  You will visit the city Visegrád where you will learn about life in the Middle Ages while enjoying spectacular views of the Danube Valley. Additionally, this is the city where you will be provided with your lunch, a 3-course Hungarian meal. You will stop at the artists' village in Szentendre, a baroque city located where the Danube River meets the Pilis Mountains. Wander the narrow streets to soak up the magical atmosphere and catch panoramic vistas of the river. Browse the shops of the village before the return journey to Budapest. Travel from 21st May until 31st October will be on a relaxing boat cruise, a fitting way to arrive back in the city center. Between the 11st of September- 31st October, and in case of low/high water levels, the return to Budapest will be by bus.
