Such a great experience! I had the goulash and it was the best meal I had in Budapest. Vivi was my server and she was so kind and gave excellent service. Would definitely go again!!
Very nice atmosphere. Super casual and the staff is very nice. Balazs was our server and even though it was super warm, he was very kind and helpful. The food is good. The portions are big, but for some dishes I would like a discription. Would definitely come back!
My server, who was a friendly girl, was lovely, and the food was good! I really enjoyed my "Crab Salad"—which she kindly let me know was actually a mis translation for shrimp salad 😆. However, the 0.2 liter beer I ordered came only 3/4 filled to the top, which was visually off-putting. It looked like someone had already taken a sip. I realize it was likely foamed up from a bad tap pour and then deflated, but I appreciate when servers top off a glass so it isn't served looking like an incomplete draft. Also, be very careful when paying your credit card bill here. Tourist-heavy spots (and For Sale Pub is ground zero for tourists) occasionally try a guilt-trip tactic on visitors who don't know the local norms. They double-dip by claiming the 12% service charge already included on the bill is for "the house" and not the servers, pushing you to add an extra 5% to 15% tip. When paying our bill, the staff member tried this exact line on my husband. Don't fall for it! The 12% service charge is already the tip for the service staff. I don't mind tipping extra if service is truly exceptional, but I don't appreciate misleading tactics. All in all, it was a nice meal, but these details really brought down the overall experience.
What a spot. Atilla, who took care of us was extremely friendly. Made us feel at home right away. Slaintes all around great for the Irish. Peanuts on the table. You get to write your own little note and pin it up. The pints are good and not expensive compared to home 5/6 quid a pint. Here on a Friday and there was great Live music. What an original and fantastic gem to stumble into. Came late, only stayed for drinks. 5 stars for sure. Great spot. THANK YOU ❤️
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing place with delicious traditional Hungarian food! We had the goulash soup and goulash with dumplings, and both were excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was unique and enjoyable. This was our first visit, but definitely not the last. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Budapest. Thank you for the wonderful service and a great experience! 🇭🇺😊🍲🍻
