Very nice and polite receptionist. Rooms are clean, with air-conditioning. Bathroom contains bidet, too. Breakfast is edible (cereals, jam, sausage, scrambled eggs, cheese, however no fresh vegetables or fruit). Location is excellent, close to Oktogon, Andrássy street, Opera.
Aww, this hotel gets a bad rap. Not to say it's perfect, but it's exactly what you'd expect for a centrally-located budget hotel with breakfast. The location is ideal, staff was friendly (including the housekeeping staff), my room was clean, the minifridge worked and the soap dispensers full (don't take this as a given, you'd be surprised how many hotels don't have soap). In this heatwave there was a very functional AC so that was the most important part. The breakfast is lacking in fresh fruit/veg and the AC smelled a bit musty, but honestly everything else was quite OK.
The room is clean but quite run down. There were ants in our bed (on the 5th floor!), my friens got stung by them. Wifi is the room is quite poor, the connection in the cafetaria is much better even that there's a router in the room. There were no kettle in the room. Breakfast is very limited, quite bad quality and they ran out of yougurst very fast and there's no yougurt if you wat during the last hour of breakfast.
I had a fantastic stay at Silver Hotel Budapest and would absolutely give it 5 stars. The location is excellent and close to major attractions and public transport, yet still quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a smooth stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout, but one moment that stood out was at reception, there was a guy who knew a bunch of phrases in different languages and used them to greet guests. It was a small touch, but it added a fun, personal vibe and made the place feel more relaxed and approachable. Overall, great value for money, pleasant atmosphere, and solid service. I’d happily stay here again when visiting Budapest.
