You HAVE to get the Paloma. Best I have ever had. The mixologist was great. And the drink even better. The best night cap you can have, so refreshing and completely unique. You have to stop in, the Paloma is up for best friend in Hungary and if I was the judge would be best in the world. Will be back!!
A hidden gem in the middle of the busy city center. If you know your way around spirits it's a must visit place, but if all you ever drank are hugos and mohitos you should definitely stop by to experience something truly unique, that will elevate your cocktail experience, (and possibly ruin you for every other cockail bar, because they'll never be good enough. But that's another thing :D ) I visited multiple times with friends and colleagues, and it's one of the best unique cocktail experiences you can find in this city. The expertise of the mixologists is undeniable, they know what they are doing and are not afraid to experiment either. Just yesterday we spent several hours here with my team from work, and let me tell you, we tried each and every one of the cocktails that were delivered to our table by the lovely barstaff and there was not a single one I wouldn't drink again. But I won't, because there's no such thing as two cocktails being the same at Side. ❤️
Quirky. Spectacular. Unique. And incomparable service. I was in two minds as anything that's a cut above tends to break the bank where I am from. But this place, man, it was a highlight of my time in Budapest. I understand that some people prefer classic cocktails. And honestly, if you requested one, you would get one. But i liked the concept: tell them what you like and they'll concoct something for you. But i loved the philosophy: cocktails are about having a good time, being in the moment. And personally, i liked the mystery. Sure, sometimes you may not like what you get (i enjoyed both my cocktails), but it's like those all flavours candies from Harry Potter. How do you know what you will like and not like if you don't experiment a little? Life's like that, and i loved the thrill of rolling the dice. And hey, it's just cocktails after all. Personally i really had to steal the recipe for my second drink, and they graciously wrote it down for me. Like I said, service was beyond exceptional. The thing with hospitality is that commercial interests often either bring quirky places like these to the common minimum, or they become more exclusive, or heck, they close down if we don't support them with regular patronage. So please, if you are in Budapest, absolutely do visit this place. They have the decor to match the concept. What's not to like? Only one itemised rating for this place: emotional connect: 5/5.
